6th PFDC (Pakistan Fashion Design Council) Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013-1Pakistan Fashion Design Council PFDC was established in 2006, with a view to facilitate talented fashion designers and work for the prosperity of Pakistan Fashion Industry. The purpose of this non-profit organization was to give fashion trends access to international market as well as the local market. It worked on the creation of some channels to increase opportunities for fashion market.

The Pakistan Fashion Design Council and Sunsilk (PFDC) are very happy to make the announcement for official dates. Plenty of fashion designers and textiles mills are participating in this fashion week, after being invited by Pakistan Fashion Design Council for PFDC Sunsilk fashion week 2013. This fashion week is planned to take place in Lahore from 26–29 April 2013.

In the 6th straight pert a porter fashion week, PFDC Sunsilk fashion Week 2013 presented a huge variety of luxury/pert collections from 33 designers. Renowned textile houses and fashion brands gave introduction and presentation of famous trends for 2013. In this fashion show, they are more focused on specifically to the regions’ long and hot months of summer. The designers are staying steady to their tradition of introducing new talent into the main event of fashion industry; the PFDC will also launch a separate “Emerging New Talent Show” to upcoming new talent.

The live stream of this fashion show was available on Pakistan Fashion Design Council’s website. The streaming of one of the biggest fashion event of Pakistan has increased the interest and diverted the attention of fashion women to this event. The increase in daily visitors of website is the proof of its popularity.

In their 6th fashion week, PFDC has also drawn the attention by ensuring the placement of exhibition stalls at the venue. These stalls were set for the duration of this fashion week and each designers/ textiles mill got a stall with their portfolio, production capabilities and design sensibilities. Pakistan Fashion Design Council has ensured that these labels and brands are equipped with adequate knowledge and training which will help in dealing with buyers, agents and stockiest professionally.

Fashion Collection at Pakistan Fashion Week 5 for 2013 – 2014-13Fashion week 5 has given opportunity to the talent of Pakistan fashion industry. There were a lot of designers who showcased their collection at Fashion week 5. Some of the famous designers who showcased their collection are Ayesha Ibrahim, Shamaeel Ansari, Baani D’s, Mona Imran and Zari Faisal etc.

At Fashion Pakistan Week 5, Ayesha Ibrahim has showcased her new collection that is entirely consisting of women wear. Ayesha Ibrahim collection is consisting of bold embodied strips, patterns and “tie & die” designs. The Inspiration of her collection was 60s period fashion trends. The collection got diverse colors and shades of mustard, purple, orange, white and black.

Shamaeel Ansari Collection

One of the legends of Pakistan fashion Industry Shamaeel Ansari was also a part of the fashion week 5. She got twenty-four years experience of work in fashion world and she has the specialty of playing with colors in a delightful manner to create something unique and stylish. Her studio is based in Karachi and dresses of her collection are available in Pakistan, India and Dubai

Her collection was exhibited at Fashion week on day 2 and exhibition of day 2 was started with her collection. Dresses of her latest collection are all modern, unique and of fresh colors. Her collection was photographed by a famous photographer Faisal Farooqui.

Baani D’s exhibited their “Color washed Layers” collection at fashion week 5. The collection of Baani D’s was exhibited at the end of the day and the fresh and unique designs gave the audience a good end of the day. Dresses of this collection were a reflector of both western and local cultures and the brand offered dresses for both men and women.

Mona Imran ‘Safari’ Collection
Mona Imran has also showcased her collection at Pakistan Fashion Week 5. The collection she exhibited in fashion week was named as Safari collection. This collection includes high quality fabrics with animal prints such as cheetah, lion etc. Safari Collection 2013 also includes Capri pants, fitted skirts tops and blazers. Mona Imran used both bright and dark in her collection which made them more attractive.

Zari Faisal collection was introduced on day 1 of Fashion week Five. Mesmerizing outfits were designed to make fashion women look even prettier. She used floral patterns and butterfly motifs to carve her collection. Plain nets, gold pleated and silk floral themes were used in this collection and the makeup of models was done by Saba Ansari. Colors used by Zari Faisal for this collection are pink, Coral and gold which made the dresses beautiful and luxurious.

Day Three Fashion Designers Collection at Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2013-16Bridal Couture Week is undoubtedly counted in the largest Fashion Industry events in Pakistan. Various designers show case their latest collection and talents in the limited time of 3 days. In this fashion show, the audiences witness the most inquisitive designs and trends of bridal collections for fashion women which are presented by top celebrities of fashion industry.

This tremendous event was attended by a lot of celebrities. Some of the famous names are Nida Yasir (morning show host), Urwa and Mawra, Shahista Wahidi, Fahad Mustafa, Howcane, Zhalay Sarhadi, Aijaz Aslam, Hina Dilapazeer, Faisal Qureshi, Hina Bayat, Madiha Iftikhar, Noor, Mahwish Hayat, Ayeza Khan, Sana, Ahsan Khan. The spectacular performance of all time famous band “Fuzon” added charm and stunning beauty to the evening. Amina Sheikh and Mohib Mirza gave a beautiful dance performance which was choreographed by “Body Beat Productions”.

The last day of Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2013 was opened with the beautiful decor change. Boasting white umbrellas which were hanging from the roof over the audience’s heads and also over the ramp increased the beauty of fashion week. Including 2 Indian designers, there were about 18 fashion designers in this fashion show.

Their latest bridal collection was show cased on the ramp of Pantene Bridal Couture week 2013. The theme was successfully created by Deepak Perwani and the look of their dresses which was very attractive. The collection presented by Deepak Perwani made the audience stunned. Their outfits were worn by many famous celebrities of different fields. A few prominent names who wore their outfits were Zeba Bakhtiyar and Wasim Akram who electrified the whole show in their own unique and stylish way. On the third day of fashion week, Deepak Perwani showcased his male and female cultural bridal collection.

Nadya Mistry

On the third and last day of this fashion week, Nadya Mistry showcased some ultra-modern and funky bridal dresses. The beautiful look of dresses was announcing that they were made with special care and according to latest fashion trends. Her outfits were donned Amna malik, Tipu Adnan shah and Madiha Iftikhar.

Designer Mifrah

Talented designer Mifrah followed the fashion week with her highly impressive and sophisticated collection of bridal dresses. Her collection was showcased by Aijaz Aslam, Amber Khan and Faisal Qureshi.

Hasan Sheheryar Yasin

The collection of HSY (Hasan Sheheryar Yasin) was exhibited at the end of the last day. Fashion week was closed with HSY’s outstanding male and female “gloriously worked collection” and the electronic fireworks display at the end of fashion week made it a memorable event.

Ahsan Nazir Collection at Fashion Pakistan Week 5 for Fashion Women Day-1Fashion week 5 was presented by Pakistan Fashion Council. Day 1 of Pakistan Fashion Week 5, 2013 was the reflector of true Asian styles and Trends and an effective platform for the promotion of Pakistan’s talent and designs both on the domestic and international platform.

Red carpet Pakistan Fashion Week 2013 Day 1 was attended and honored by famous fashion celebrities includes Tapu Javeri, Zari Faisal, Amna Kardar, Adnan Pardesy, Faiza Saqlain, Shamaeel Ansari, Ahsan Nazir and others Pakistan Fashion celebrities.

The first day of fashion week was opened with House of Maheen followed by Deepak n Fahad (DnF), Zari Faisal, Orient, Aamir Baig, Mona Imran and Ayesha Hasan. The show was resumed with the astonishing collection of Ahsan Nazir which attracted the attention of viewers and gave the fashion show a positive spark.

The day’s proceedings were resumed by Designer Ahsan Nazir and he exhibited his latest collection which was named as “Global Remix”. Ahsan Nazir collection is a true indication of new generation fashion trends and styles and the inspiration he got was from international fashion trends. 5 male looks and 18 female looks were introduced on basis of trendiness; modern relevance and merit were incorporated in this collection. The fabrics and materials Ahsan Nazir has featured in his collection are embroideries layered with beautiful embellishments which create an outstanding look. Colors of this collection are an eclectic combination of off-center tones, natural shades and sharp hues in the dresses.

Fashion show 5 was choreographed by no other than “Catwalk Event Management & Productions” and the back stage management was managed by Production [021] & show was produced by CKO. Faisal Farooqui along with his team at Dragonfly was responsible for all official photography for the event with collaboration with Hum TV.

Some other famous designers who participated in Pakistan fashion week 5 (day 1) were Emraan Rajput, ayesha hasan, Mona Imran, Aamir baigh, Orient, Zari faisal, DNF, House of Maheen, Aamna Aqeel, Faiza saqlain and Bani D. These designers have also brought unique designs but the designs presented by Ahsan nazir were of no match.

On 2nd day of Pakistan Fashion week, Sana Safinaz presented their collection when the show was resumed after the break. The acclaimed fashion brand showcased their latest collection, which attracted the audience due to its uniqueness and style. This collection revived the popular and great style of fashion icons “Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis”. Sana Safinaz collection is very stylish as they have included a little touch of the past famous designs. This collection includes a bit modern designs in bold cuts. Sana Safinaz collection was presented by many leading and top models in Pakistan Fashion week. Latest lines for L.A fashion women were showcased in the previous L.A’s fashion week. A lot of popular designers exhibited their designs in that exhibition. The L.A fashion week was not as stunning as the New York fashion week, but its tremendous events did draw some attention. With famous celebrities like Richie Sambora who released a new line of designs and there were a lot of potential retail buyers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Anthropolgie.
Animal print legging and tops were the popular designs of sambora’s which were the result of collaboration with Nikki.

Designer Jenawad focused on the designs prepared with faux leather, pearls and fur. Her designed mini dresses, jumpsuits and Leather jackets were ey  e catching and absolutely fabulous.

One of the project runways winners, Jeffrey Sebelia is also in one of the famous designers whose designs are waited all year long. His dressing line is labeled as Fluxus and it has always attracted potential customers by offering different eye catching offers. Brand is offering a holiday sale and all the dresses are available at 50% discount and can be bought via their online store. His Skin graft collection was made using dark leather and the master pieces were coats and caps. Brand also exhibited cotton jursy jumpsuits and black dresses and leggings with floral prints.

What is Fashion Industry?There is a lot of talk regarding the evolution of fashion women and Fashion industry and how it has affected general trends and even traditions.

What is Fashion?
When we talk about the fashion, it is simply a term for some popular practice or style. This term is used in footwear, make up, furniture and even for accessories. The word fashion used a lot but it is mostly used in clothing. The term Fashion usually relate to an often habitual trends of people of a certain place. In general meaning, fashion is the study of clothing trend itself. A new creation of designers of textile industry is also referred as fashion.

History and evolution of Fashion Industry.
Before 19th century, most of the dresses were custom made by individuals. These dresses were made in home as small business or as an employee of some tailor. The evolution of technology affected had an effect on sewing methods too. The trend of small retailers decreased when capitalists started making dresses on massive scale with the help of sewing machines. These industries attracted the attention of people by offering them better sewed cloths at a more competitive rate. We can say that the fashion industry is in one of the things which 20th century has introduced to us.

This industry was firstly developed in America and Europe but with the passage of time, it has spread internationally. Now not only there is developed industry in every country, international brands have put a lot of effort to compete in the competition by offering outfits which can’t be beaten. They hire best designers who design the outfits in different country, and then the design is manufactured in another country and sold internationally. This complex process is done to get the best results and give the customer a state of art design with a fabric of non beatable quality.

Levels of Fashion Industry.
Although there is a lot which falls in fashion industry, but for simple understanding Fashion industry can be divided into four levels.
1. Raw material production.
2. Production of goods by designers and manufacturers.
3. Retail and whole sale.
4. A lot of advertising and promotion is also a part of the fashion industry.

Proper promotion and advertisement can change the entire picture, by boosting the sales and giving unimagined profits.

Role of media in development and evolution of fashion industry.
On every part of life, the importance and effect of media can’t be denied and this effect is more intense in fashion. When the Media coverage, comments and critique of fashion journalists, discussion on famous fashion blogs are in favor of a brander designer, this will be one of the best things which have ever happened to him.
